Tuesday 25th of March 2008 Give A Seat A NameOverton’s new public seats in shape of sheep are still a major attraction for local residents; so much so, the pupils of Overton Primary School have named them.Croudace Homes, who have sponsored the seat project, invited pupils to take part in a friendly competition, and contribute to a list of names, which was eventually whittled down to six, namely: Captain Ram, Doris, Baa-tholomew, Goggle Van Bobalot, Rockety Rou-baa and Heather. The names have been put onto plaques, which will be put into position after the naming ceremony. The schools Head Girl and Head Boy, escorted by Head Teacher Fiona Wyeth did the honours. The school being rewarded with books tokens, and new books destined for the school library, are to be selected by the six pupils who came up with the winning names. The first phase of homes at Overton Hill is virtually sold out, leaving just the ex show homes. Call Overton Hill on 01256 883593 for further information. | |
